Principal’s Biography
Mr. David Higgins joined the staff at William Ford in 2015 after serving as the Principal of Iris Becker Elementary in Dearborn since 2012. Prior to his tenure at Becker Elementary he served as Assistant Principal at William Ford. Mr. Higgins spent 24 years in the classroom as an elementary teacher, teaching second through fifth grades in Dearborn, Michigan, North Carolina and Indiana.
Mr. Higgins is a graduate of Michigan State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education and from Wayne State University with a Master’s Degree in School Administration. He also has additional graduate work in education and administration from Western Carolina University and North Carolina State University.
Mr. Higgins has been married to Amy Higgins since 1987. Mr. and Mrs. Higgins are the proud parents of two boys, Michael and Alex. Michael is a graduate of Michigan State University who currently works in Dearborn for AAA, and Alex who is a graduate of Ferris State & Schoolcraft College with a degree in criminal justice. Alex is currently studying to receive certification in education as a secondary teacher. Mr. Higgins lives in Dearborn.
