Dismissal Reminder

Thank you again for your continued understanding and patience during arrival and dismissal.  As you know, due to construction, it was necessary to amend our dismissal procedures, dismissal doors and times.

Pre-School dismisses from their classroom beginning at 3:20.

Kindergarten dismisses from the cafeteria beginning at 3:25.

1st and 2nd grades begin dismissing through the front door at 3:30.

3rd-5th grades also begin dismissing through the parking lot door at 3:30.

Of course, attempting to dismiss nearly 700 students through two doors does have challenges.  Some class will be first and some class will be last.  This is not the teacher’s fault.  Additionally, for the safety of all students, only Pre-school and Kindergarten parents are to enter the building when invited and chaperoned by staff to get their child from the cafeteria/PK room.

Once the construction is completed (maybe by summer), dismissal will improve!  If you have concerns, please see Mr. Higgins or Mrs. Akroush.

The fifth grade field trip to the Henry Ford Village is still on for Tuesday!

Fifth graders, along with teachers and Mr. Higgins, will be walking (if the path is free of snow) to the Henry Ford Village residency at the corner of Ford and Greenfield.  Students will be singing holiday songs with the residents and then joining them for cookies and juice.

Dress for the Winter Wonderland walk – warm coat, boots, gloves & hat!
